Brief: Design an experience that reveals and explores the everyday impact of space satellites

Once we decided on space junk as the theme of our project, we began to discuss the purpose and form of our design.

Purpose Of Design

Satellites are closely related to our life, so it is particularly important to create a perfect environment for the normal operation of satellites. The presence of space junk is a potential threat to functioning satellites. Despite the existence of space junk this problem very important, but people for the understanding of space junk are very strange. Help you better and more direct understanding of the space junk is the goal of our project.

Form Of Design

We started out with the same idea of making a game about space junk. Firstly, because of telecommuting, it is more convenient for us to make a game on the computer. Second, in the form of a game, it will be more intuitive and interesting. Third, no one has ever made a game. We think this is a good challenge and a try.

About Game

This is a digital game, we did a low-FI game this week. First of all, this is the interface to enter the game. After entering the game, it will be divided into four main interfaces: starting game, two-player duel, leaderboard and personal home page. Duels and leaderboards are designed to increase the variety of games to play. We are also thinking about whether we should make this a one-off scientific game or a sustainable competitive game. As for the game, we were inspired by Clearspace-1 and wanted to set the player up as a garbage collector robot that would travel through space after being launched from Earth, dodging normal satellites to collect debris. The collected space junk will eventually be transported to the space garbage station for centralized destruction.

However, if it is just a digital game, we think it will be too single.

If we can build a scene game. We transform a space into a universe and make models of satellites and space junk. Then we'll go through these satellites and space junk models to a game screen, playing a video game. In the form of a physical game combined with a video game, we decided to set the game in a museum. The positioning of this game will be a situational game with science. So we analyzed the AEIOU in the museum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next week, we will consider which points we need to design based on the elements in AEIOU.
